Learning Support
Staff
Most of your learning time at PacTec will be spent with an English language tutor – we have at least one for every 15 students. Our tutors are required to hold appropriate ESOL or teaching qualifications and are available on site for at least two hours outside of class time to help you meet course requirements.
Your tutor has the support of our ESOL Course Director, who is responsible for the overall quality of our English language programme and is happy to speak with you regarding your learning plan.
Facilities
There are two major classrooms on the PacTec campus plus two interview rooms for recruitment, assessments and private tutorials.
To support classroom lessons, PacTec students have access to a Computer Lab complete with Internet access and a Resource Lab stocked with learning materials such as English language audiotapes, CD-ROMs, DVDs, various textbooks and workbooks.
Our lunchroom is communal, for staff and students, and it opens onto a small, outdoor courtyard.
Student Life
PacTec features a range of extracurricular activities to help keep student life fun and adventurous. This includes a recreational group for students keen to explore more of NZ outside of the classroom, organized sports and other social activities planned throughout the year.
