Enrolling with PacTec
Entry Requirements
As long as you meet the requirements to study with PacTec (please see our Entry and Selection Criteria document for more information), students of all English language ability will be accepted into our General English courses. You only need to be willing to learn.
Upon enrolment, we will interview you and assess your English ability to see which of our programmes would suit you best. We will also create a Learner Needs Profile (LNP) for you so your tutors can plan lessons that cater to your specific needs.
6 Easy Steps to Get to PacTec
Step 1: Fill out our application form and send it to us
You can download the Application to Enrol as an International Student form here. You can also phone, fax or email us to send you an application form.
Complete this form and mail, fax or email it back to us.
Homestay Registration
If you would like us to help you find accommodation for the time you will spend in New Zealand, please indicate this in the appropriate section of your enrolment form.
You do not need to send us any payment at this stage.
Step 2: Letter of Acceptance
Once your application has been accepted, we will send you a Letter of Acceptance to acknowledge this. We will also send you our Tuition Agreement form and confirmation of your full tuition fees in an invoice.
At this point, you can talk to the New Zealand Immigration Service (NZIS) about obtaining a provisional visa approval on condition that you are given an official Offer of Place letter from PacTec. Ask your recruitment agent for more information about this.

Step 3: We will send you an Offer of Place
When we have received your payment, we will send you an ‘Offer of Place’ letter. This letter will confirm that you have been accepted into PacTec, and you need it to apply for a visa to study in New Zealand. You can also use it as a receipt for your tuition fees.

Step 4: Apply for your visa
Apply for your visa at a New Zealand Embassy or Consulate. Once you have received it, inform us of your final travel details and arrangements.
Or confirm your payment with NZIS to receive your official visa to study in New Zealand.
Step 5: We will confirm your homestay / accommodation
The last thing we will send to you before you travel to New Zealand is your Homestay or Accommodation placement information and a confirmation of your airport pick-up arrangements if necessary.
You can now make your way to New Zealand.
Step 6: Arrival in New Zealand and at PacTec
If you require it, we will greet you when you arrive in Auckland and will transport you to our campus, where you will meet your Homestay family.
The following Monday morning, we will give you a full induction into PacTec and an English placement test.
You can then begin classes.
